We’re thrilled to share incredible news with our flag football community—iFlag has officially set a Guinness World Record by hosting the largest flag football tournament ever! An astonishing 11,779 passionate athletes came together at Tampa’s Sportsplex, making history and showcasing the explosive growth of flag football.

In recognition of this groundbreaking achievement, Guinness World Records officially announced, “The scale and enthusiasm witnessed in Tampa demonstrate the sport’s growing significance and the community’s extraordinary passion.” We couldn’t be prouder to have set such an incredible milestone.

At iFlag, our mission has always been clear: promote, develop, and elevate flag football globally. We see the sport as an inclusive, safer alternative to tackle football, making it accessible to everyone regardless of age or skill level. The record-breaking turnout in Tampa is proof that this vision is becoming a reality.

The Tampa World Championships were not just about competition—they were a celebration of the sport we all love. Athletes from youth leagues, recreational divisions, and competitive adult teams showcased their skills and spirit. Players came from across the United States and international communities, including Canada, Mexico, and Europe, reflecting the global appeal of flag football.

We were especially excited to have CBS Sports Network broadcast the Tampa World Championships, bringing the excitement of flag football into homes nationwide. This major step forward is attracting new fans, participants, and even more corporate and celebrity interest, helping to further elevate the sport.

At iFlag, we believe in creating opportunities. Events like the Tampa World Championships inspire athletes, attract new players, and bring communities closer together. Coaches, parents, and volunteers alike made this event a huge success, embodying the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication.

The broadcast of the tournament on CBS Sports Network further amplified flag football’s reach, highlighting its dynamic gameplay to millions of viewers nationwide. Brands and celebrities are noticing too, investing heavily in flag football’s potential to reach diverse audiences and engage communities in exciting new ways.

Looking ahead, we’re excited for flag football’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, a monumental step that promises even greater growth and global visibility. iFlag is committed to fostering structured, inclusive, and engaging opportunities for athletes at every level, from grassroots programs to elite competitions.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and celebrated with us in Tampa. You’ve helped set a new standard and shown the world the incredible potential of flag football. This record belongs to all of us in the iFlag community—we couldn’t have done it without your passion and support.
