ALLEN, Texas — October 1, 2026 — USA Flag, one of the most established independent flag football event and development organizations in the world, today announced that it has officially changed its brand name to iFlag, short for the International Flag League.

The transition from USA Flag to iFlag represents the next chapter in the organization’s continued evolution from a nationally recognized tournament operator into a comprehensive international flag football platform.

Under the iFlag name, the organization will continue operating its established youth and adult tournaments, championships, leagues, rankings, educational programs, officiating initiatives and athlete-development opportunities. The new identity will also support a broader international strategy focused on building partnerships, competitions and developmental programs throughout the world.

“USA Flag was built around the idea that flag football deserved a professional, inclusive and athlete-focused platform,” said Travis Burnett, co-founder and CEO of iFlag. “That mission has not changed. What has changed is the size of the opportunity and the reach of our organization. The iFlag name better represents who we have become, where we are going and the global community we intend to serve.”

From a National Brand to an International Platform

USA Flag developed its reputation by organizing large-scale youth and adult flag football events featuring teams from across the United States and numerous international markets. Over time, the organization expanded beyond tournaments to provide standardized rules, rankings, coaching resources, officiating development, educational materials and business-development support for flag football operators.

As international participation continued to increase, the organization recognized that the USA Flag name no longer fully represented the scope of its audience, partnerships or long-term plans.

The name iFlag provides the organization with a unified international identity while preserving the competitive foundation, operational experience and community relationships developed under the USA Flag brand.

“This is more than a new logo or a different name,” said Charles Davis, co-founder of iFlag. “It reflects our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for athletes, teams, coaches, officials and operators throughout the entire flag football ecosystem. We are proud of everything built through USA Flag, and we are equally excited about what iFlag will allow us to build next.”

Expanding Opportunities Across the Sport

Operating as the International Flag League, iFlag plans to expand its work across several areas of the sport, including:

  • National and international youth and adult tournaments
  • Recreational, competitive and elite-level leagues
  • International partnerships and licensed programs
  • Coaching and officiating education
  • Rankings and championship qualification systems
  • Player identification and development opportunities
  • League and tournament sanctioning
  • Educational resources for sports entrepreneurs and event operators
  • Digital platforms connecting athletes, teams and organizations
  • Media, streaming and sponsorship opportunities

The transition comes during a transformational period for flag football. Participation continues to grow among youth, adult and female athletes, while the sport’s inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games is generating unprecedented international interest.

iFlag intends to help meet that demand by supporting both established flag football communities and emerging programs seeking the structure, education and resources necessary to grow.

Honoring the USA Flag Legacy

Although the USA Flag name is being retired from future operations, its history will remain an important part of iFlag’s identity.

The USA Flag era helped establish a nationally recognized tournament platform, create opportunities for thousands of teams and athletes, develop multiple formats of competition and connect flag football communities from across the United States and around the world.

Existing relationships, event traditions and organizational programs will continue under the iFlag name. Participants can expect the same emphasis on competition, inclusion, professionalism and community, supported by a brand designed for the international future of the sport.

“Our history will always matter,” Burnett said. “USA Flag gave us the foundation to reach this moment. iFlag gives us the ability to take everything we have learned and apply it on a much larger scale.”

A New Name for the Next Era of Flag Football

The organization will begin transitioning its websites, social media channels, tournament materials, rulebooks, apparel and digital platforms to the iFlag identity throughout the remainder of 2026.

Future events and programs will be promoted under the iFlag or International Flag League name. Additional announcements regarding international partnerships, developmental programs and upcoming championship events are expected in the months ahead.

The organization’s leadership views the rebrand not as a departure from its original mission, but as an expansion of it.

“Flag football belongs to the world,” Burnett said. “Our goal is to create an organization capable of serving that world—one that welcomes every style of play, every level of athlete and every country that shares our passion for the game. That is the vision behind iFlag.”
